A large and powerful example with its massive steel basket guard having distinctive pierced heart decorations and with its very fine shark skin grip retaining its multi-layered copper wire fully intact. Mounted with a large strong double-edged blade having a short central fuller, both sides of ricasso as well as the ricasso edge sides are bearing multiple well preserved markings and numerals, the maker's name MOLE is struck on the other edge-side of ricasso. Solid and fully intact overall on this very good example of strong built and exceptionally battle-worthy characteristics, used by the British Highland Regiments in the 19th century warfare.
