MUG CUP 1946 WARWICK CHINA
This is a Rare, Vintage 1946, Oswald Rabbit, Santone, Warwick China, heavy china Mug featuring some of Oswald's Favorite Buddies.
Moe, and Elmer, and Oswald.
There is Bright Green Paint Trim on Rim and Handle.
This mug is in very good condition, there are no chips, cracks, scratches or crazing. There slight wear on the Oswald transfer and the green around the rim and handle.
The mug presents beautifully and is in great shape for it's 74 years.
The bottom is clearly marked SANTONE WARWICK CHINA 1946 MADE IN U.S.A.
This mug stands 2 7/8" tall by 3.25" opening. 1.75" base, 4" across to the end of the handle.
Oswald the Lucky Rabbit was created in 1927 by Walt Disney with Ub Iwerks and the team through twenty-six cartoon shorts.
Not without fits and starts, the series and its impish title character were an instant hit with audiences.
At the end of that initial run, Walt lost the contract to Oswald, which prompted the creation of Mickey Mouse.
Over the years, Oswald became a footnote in the Disney story and is currently experiencing a revival.
