Vintage 1940's Universal Cambridge Child’s Warming Dish Mug Patchwork Cat & Dog.
beautiful 1940s Universal Cambridge ceramic pottery metal bottom warming child’s dish and mug
The warming plate measures 8” and 10” including the scalloped handles. The dish is divided into 3 sections. No chips or cracks and no visible crazing and the images are all clean and no lift to surface.
the warming plate has a Bakelite cap cork stopper and the cap is loose from the cork and can be reglued. I try not to modify items and leave that up to the buyer.
The Childs mug measures 2.5” tall has a handle and a 3” diameter. The images are clean the Brie trim rim is some pint lift but not badly lifted. There is some mild crazing but nothing broken or chipped and it is smooth to the touch.
Gingham dog and calico cat images on both the mug and the warming dish. The images depict the poem by Eugene Field “The Duel” about a Gingham dog and calico cat.
Truly a beautiful set and it displays nicely. It is from my personal collection I am downsizing.
