Description
UNIFORM SWORD revolutionary eraUniform swords appear around 1787/1789.
They are clearly inspired, as for their general shape of the swords of French Guards but in different essentially by two characters:
- the pommel is in plumed helmet, turned to the left
- the top is almost flat, cordate, notched in front.
this model, and its variants, will remain in service until around 1816 and will see its peak during the revolutionary period.
Silver-tone brass frame with one branch.
Fuse entirely filigree in copper and brass.
Pommel in the shape of a Phrygian cap.
Blade of triangular section with hollow sides of 84 cm, formerly blued with traces of gold engravings of military symbols.
End of the guard broken on one side
