Georgian Revolutionary Period Spadroon

Description

British officers spadroon. Blade retaining approximatley 70% of its blue and gilding, having a floral design and showing the pre 1801 Royal crest. The hilt has an almost “coffin hilt” design, having a chequered grip and a five ball steel knuckle bow and guard. Complete with original leather scabbard with polished steel mounts, throat is marked “Cullum, King’s Cutler, Charing Cross” .
M.Cullum left this address in 1797 and was succeeded by John Prosser.
