    Description

Very excellent bandsman cavalry sword of late 18th early 19th century. Lion head pommel with pine cone motif finials on quillion. This would be the sword used by the bugler of a cavalry regiment for example. The blade is a fullered 1798 light cavalry. A few nicks but otherwise
superior blade. Very hardened steel that keep excellent edge. This pattern was used well in to Victorian era and also served in India. Once had ring through lion's mouth. Really neat sword. Last pic is of identical brass casting of hilt in similar sword with brass scabbard.
