Antique Holdfast McNicol Jack & Jill Baby Bowl and/or Plate w/ Ring Attachment·
Center of bowl shows Jack and Jill coming down the hill with a bucket of water, just as the nursery rhyme goes.

Measures 8" and about 2" high.
·
Gold gilded edges which has rubbed off somewhat.
Some “crackling” on bowl.
Note in the picture the crack on the back rim.
And some slight stains in bowl.
But overall, it is in pretty good shape considering how old it is and considering it was used during the day.

Exact date unknown but these plates were made during the turn of the century (1890-1925) in Liverpool, O.

Included is the original metal ring attachment that was used to attach to baby high chair.

D.E. McNicol held a patent for Holdfast Plates, which featured a metal ring attachment to secure the plate to a feeding chair.
·
Imprinted on back “HOLDFAST, Baby Plate, Patented, E. McNicol, Liverpool, O.”
