    Description

For auction is and antique cavalry saber. I orignally acquired this sword believing it was a British 1796 Pattern Light Cavalry Saber. It has not markings and it has a different tip-profile from a British 1796 but I still believe it is an original period copy of a 1796 Saber. The hilt is loose and there is pitting on the blade. The iron scabbard has a wood core that is no longer fit for sheathing the sword. I can insert the sword 1/3 of the way before it requires force. The sword and the scabbard will be shipped together but packaged separately. Please see the pictures.
A helpful member has pointed out that this could likely be an 1811 Prussian Blucher Saber.
